Cantine Volpetti Winery is located in the heart of the Colli Albani, the beautiful hill country south of Rome where geologically rich soils and exposure to the sea have favored wine production for centuries. Ancient writers such as Cato and Horace, among others, sing praises to this region and its wine. Since 1958 the Volpetti family has produced fine wines in the region with the goal of encouraging and improving local varieties. The Volpetti mission starts with cultivating indigenous vines such as Malvasia Puntinata, Cesanese and Bellone, moves forward with national varieties such as Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Trebbiano, and culminates with international vines that are compatible with the territory as Syrah and Chardonnay. Cantine Volpetti produces a wide range of wines representing the particular strengths of local vines grown in the Colli Albani terroir.
