Cantine San Marco

Company name
Cantine San Marco

Sometimes, beautiful things arise from unexpected situations. This is the case with Umberto Notarnicola and Bruno Violo, two men who, although linked to the regions of mighty reds, have been able to create the most important private wine-growing concern in the Province of Rome, starting with Frascati, the Castelli Romani area’s historic white. Passion for wine and for the enchanting territory of the Castelli led them to go beyond their origins – Puglia for Umberto and Piedmont for Bruno – with the creation, in 1972, of a cellar on Colle San Marco, the hill from which the winery takes its name. Cantine San Marco is an important national player with a particular emphasis on exporting, garnering repeated successes and honours in more than 42 countries.
