It takes ideas to create great enterprises, and the Gasperini brothers had one in 1909: purchasing lands from the noble Chigi family to produce high-quality wines. Subsequent generations managed to respect and valorise this commitment, transforming Cantina Villafranca into a concern recognized abroad as well.
If it is the volcanic soil that provides the body, quality, and minerality characteristic of these wines, it is our work on the vineyards (replanting in rows with a high number of vinestocks) that improves the yield of both plants and grapes, in order to obtain greater structure and body in the wine. This systematic work regarded both international varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah) and native ones (Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Malvasia, Bonvino).
