Capizucchi winery is a young company located in the countryside south from Rome, the company’s properties extend for 25 hectares of DOC and IGT vineyards, very close to Divino Amore’s sanctuary. Here, a particularly favorable microclimate and the soil of volcanic origin, rich in minerals and microelements, have a strong influence on the quality and organoleptic properties of wine. The varieties planted, from the first hectare in 2014 to the last ones in 2017, follow two parallel lines of production. The first one aims at the valorization of the autochthonous species, therefore to the traditional denominations such as Roma DOC, the second one aims at progress and novelty by introducing in the Latium territory typically northern varieties suitable for sparkling wine. Trained in counter-espalier system, with a planting layout of 2.5 meters by 1 meter, our vineyards enjoy an excellent exposure towards south – southwest, in the direction of the west wind which caresses the Agro Romano as far as Castelli.
